SUMMARY: starting server with bge1 plumb up and no IP address

Many people responded and told me to just "echo 0.0.0.0
> /etc/hostname.bge1", which seemed to plumb and bring the interface up.
Darren Dunham of Taos was very helpful in general and also advised me
to

	printf "netmask +\n\n" > /etc/hostname.bge1

in order to plumb the interface and NOT bring it up.

Thanks for your help, everyone!

- Julian
