First, many thanks to Ben Green, John Christian and Karl Rossing for
their ideas and support. Well, it turns out that everything on the
system was fine. The problem actually originated from the fact that the
system, before it was rebuilt, was using Qlogic's device drivers and on
the 6130 the two initiators for the system were still set to "Solaris
(Veritas DMP or other)" for multipathing. Once I changed them to
"Solaris (Traffic Manager)", ran cfgadm -c unconfigure c3 c4, devfsadm
-C, and cfgadm -c configure c3 c4, format showed the single scsi_vhci
device. Once again I have been reminded that double checking EVERYTHING,
not just where you think the problem may be, is still a good idea...

Subject: 6130 mpxio question

Howdy all,

I've decided to give Sun's qlc drivers a shot and have run into a
quandry. I have assigned a LUN from a 6130 to a V120 with a Dual Port
2GB FC HBA (seperate fabric paths per port) and set mpxio-disable="no";
in /kernel/drv/scsi_vhci.conf. I patched the system fully (smpatch/patch
cluster/PatchPro Hub for Storage Devices). Rebooted. Ran cfgadm -c
configure c3 c4. However when I look at luxadm display of the two disk
devices I see there are two paths (one through each port) but there is
no scsi_vhci device path as all the documentation refers to... See
below:

So, perhaps this is normal and I'm confused, or perhaps I'm missing
something. I was under the impression that a single scsi_vhci device
would be created for both disk devices since they are actually the same
LUN. Can anyone shed some light?

On a side note, after installing the data host software and trying to
run ras_install for StorADE, it complains that the version of perl that
comes with Solaris 9 and my copy of Perl 5.8 are not supported for the
ras_install, but it doesn't say what a supported version is. This really
isn't as critical as the above issue, but if you know of the answer, let
me know.
