Thanks to everyone who replied and from the replys everyone is pretty much experiencing these same errors with Firefox and Mozilla on Solaris. This is a bug. There was supposedly a patch that was introduced into some versions where this patch is I'm not sure. These GTK errors are at least in part due probably to Linux being more of a focal point for compatibility vs. Solaris. My Linux machine does not get these errors when running Firefox. The error should no affect the usability of the browser but they can be annoying. Just ignore them. Here is a way to send the GTK errors to the bit bucket. # firefox > /dev/null 2>&1 Then at least you won't see them scroll along your shell window. Below is my original question I'm running Firefox 1.0.7 on Solaris 9 and get these errors whenever I launch a web browser they occur over and over in my shell window. Is this a bug in Firefox? It happened with Mozilla 1.7 also.
