I fixed my own problem but thought this might be useful to someone on the list. SOLUTION: The problem is exactly that, Solaris 10 maps ce4 (from Solaris 8) to ce2. I verified this by checking the MAC ADDRESS of the Ethernet board in question. It is always a good idea to gather ALL the necessary data before you rebuild a box! PROBLEM: I am moving from Solaris 8 to Solaris 10. Now I cannot bring up ce4, where previously it brought it up fine with no problems under Solaris 8. Rebooting with command: boot -r Boot device: /pci@1f,700000/scsi@2/disk@0,0:d File and args: -r SunOS Release 5.10 Version Generic 64-bit Copyright 1983-2005 Sun Microsystems, Inc. All rights reserved. Use is subject to license terms. Hardware watchdog enabled ce4: DL_ATTACH_REQ failed: DL_BADPPA ce4: DL_BIND_REQ failed: DL_OUTSTATE ce4: DL_PHYS_ADDR_REQ failed: DL_OUTSTATE ce4: DL_NOTIFY_ACK failed: DL_OUTSTATE Failed to plumb IPv4 interface(s): ce4 I am assuming it renamed ce4 to either ce2 or ce1, investigating this now. _______________________________________________ sunmanagers mailing list sunmanagers@sunmanagers.org http://www.sunmanagers.org/mailman/listinfo/sunmanagersReceived on Wed Oct 12 08:02:02 2005
