Folks - After bugging HP support on this matter for 6 weeks, I finally have a valid st.conf entry for an HP VS80 DLT1 tape drive. You'll notice other tape drives in this entry - HP included them as well, but I'm sure you could cut out the ones you don't want or need. I don't see a reason that this info could not be adapted for earlier Solaris versions, but HP barely supports Sol9. Thanks to Darren Dunham for his helpful suggestions, especially using modinfo and modunload to remove the st instance, and get around constant reboots to test a new st.conf config. tape-config-list = "HP C7438A","HP DAT72 4mm DAT ", "HP_DAT_5", "HP DAT72X6","HP DAT72X6","HP_DAT_5", "HP C5713A","HP DAT40X6","HP_DAT_5", "HP Ultrium 3", "Ultrium 3", "HP_LTO_GEN_3", "HP Ultrium", "Ultrium 1/2", "Ultrium", "QUANTUM DLT8000", "Quantum DLT8000", "DLT7k-data", "HP SDLT600", "SDLT", "SDLTn", "QUANTUM SDLT600", "SDLT", "SDLTn", "COMPAQ SDLT320", "Compaq SDLT", "SDLT", "SONY SDX-700C", "AIT Thing", "AIT", "CERTANCEULTRIUM 2", "Seagate LTO2", "SeagateLTO", "IBM ULT3580-TD2", "HP Ultrium", "Ultrium", "HP DLT VS160", "HP DLT1", "DLT1", "HP DLT VS80" , "HP DLT VS80" , "VS80data" ; VS80data = 1, 0x38, 0, 0x09639, 4, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 3; DLT1 = 2, 0x38, 0, 0xd639, 4, 0, 0, 0, 0, 3, 60, 300, 600, 1200, 600, 600, 14400; HP_LTO_GEN_3 = 2, 0x3B, 0, 0x18659, 4, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 3, 60, 300, 600, 1200, 600, 600, 7200; Ultrium = 1, 0x3B, 0, 0x18659, 4, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 3, 60, 300, 600, 1200, 600, 600, 7200; SDLT = 1, 0x38, 0, 0x0D639, 4, 0x84, 0x85, 0x86, 0x87, 3; SDLTn = 1, 0x38, 0, 0x0D639, 4, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 3; HP_DAT_5 = 1, 0x34, 0, 0x9639, 4, 0x00, 0x13, 0x24, 0x03, 3; DLT7k-data = 1, 0x38, 0, 0x0D639, 4, 0x82, 0x83, 0x85, 0x86, 2; AIT = 1, 0x35, 0, 0x8619, 4, 0x13, 0x8c, 0x8c, 0x8c, 3; SeagateLTO = 1, 0x36, 0, 0x1d639, 4, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 1; Charles Mengel LGI -The Legnem Group, Inc 5501 Twin Knolls Rd Suite 107 Columbia MD 21045 410-997-1393 [demime 1.01b removed an attachment of type application/ms-tnef which had a name of winmail.dat] _______________________________________________ sunmanagers mailing list sunmanagers@sunmanagers.org http://www.sunmanagers.org/mailman/listinfo/sunmanagersReceived on Wed Jun 29 11:27:45 2005
