Hi, Well I was looking for a special command, quick, that can deal with filesystem structure, goes in depth and determine partition's file number. I think that it doesn't exsit because all the answers recommand to use the find command, no other solution. it takes a long time to calculate more than 3 million files . find /filesystem -type f -print | wc -l Thanks, Rachid, > > > Rachid BOUKHARI wrote: > >> Hi Gurus, >> >> Is there any command to know how many files are there in a directory >> or a disk slice . >> >> Regards, >> >> Rachid, >> -- **************************************** * Rachid BOUKHARI * * Unix/Linux System Administrator * * Rabat Information Security Officer * * STMicroelectronics-Rabat * * * * BP 765 Av IbnSina Agdal Rabat-Morocco* * Phone: +212 22 93 63 29 * * Fax: +212 22 93 63 34 * **************************************** _______________________________________________ sunmanagers mailing list sunmanagers@sunmanagers.org http://www.sunmanagers.org/mailman/listinfo/sunmanagersReceived on Fri Jun 3 14:33:48 2005
