I don't do a lot of Solaris administration any longer and am under pressure to finish this rebuild. Basically I have a Sunfire V120 (Solaris 8) which I had previously setup with an external RAID array I had built on a Storedge 3300, and decided to rebuild the whole system since I had previously made some mistakes in the partition sizes for root, etc, etc Anyway.. now that I have reinstalled Solaris, I cannot figure out how to get the OS to recognize the previously working Storedge 3300 RAID device any longer. I know I got it working before but cannot remember what steps I took. Whenever I do a 'format' I only see the 2 internal drives. I know the hardware is OK, as I can still see the external devices from the boot prompt with a probe-scsi-all, but when I boot the OS I cannot see them. I have looked at and done everything in the Storedge installation manual ( I think) including - edit sd.conf and add LUNS to all the targets - create /kernel/drv/glm.conf and used modinfo to see it is loading - reboot -- -r - installed Solaris8 Recommended patches but still don't see the RAID volume from 'format' Is there something I have missed? How to troubleshoot this?
