Thanks very much for all the great reponses. I really appreciate all of your help. A Summary: In a .forward file you need 2 entries. root anne.bond@ombudsman.gov.au The first one tells mail to keep a local copy and the second send a copy to you elsewhere. or you can add a line in /etc/aliases root: <account> where <account> is whatever you like and then run the command newaliases which will read that file and rebuild the aliases db. After that all email send to root will be sent to <account> > >> Hi, >> >> I'd like to set up so that any mails sent to root in Unix box will >> also send to my email account such as anne.bond@ombudsman.gov.au. >> >> Thanks >> Anne >> >> >> >> --------------------------------- >> Find local movie times and trailers on Yahoo!
