Many thanks to all those who responded, especially Michael Horton, Ken Rossman, Wade Lich, David B Harrington, Andy Yother, and Alex Stade. The general consensus is that there should be no problem swapping the memory, as "the memory used in the older machines is the same that was used in the later models", and the speeds are the same. Many thanks again, -Mark -----Original Message----- Hi all, I would like to know if it is possible to take the memory from one E450 (4x296Mhz processors) and use it in another E450 (4x480Mhz processors). >From looking at http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub/Devices/Memory/MEM_U450_UE450.html, it appears that all memory for an E450 is rated at 60ns, so the memory from the slower system should work fine on the faster system. Am I correct in assuming this ? Thanks for any replies, and I will of course summarise. -Mark Mark Round UNIX Systems Administrator IPC Country and Leisure Media IPC Media Ltd, a Time Warner Company.
