SUMMARY: Changing NIS+ root password

I had several replies to do a

1. # passwd
2. # chkey -p

and

3. # keylogin -r (not mandatory)

I did 1 and 2 above and it worked ok.
There was one client where it would not take the secure RPC password

# chkey -p
Updating nisplus publickey database.
Reencrypting key for 'unix.hostname@llnl.gov'.
Please enter the Secure-RPC password for root:
Try again. Please enter the Secure-RPC password for root:
chkey: key-pair unchanged for root.

In this case, should I delete its entry from the cred table and 
re-create the credential with

/usr/bin/nisaddcred -p unix.hostname@

or should I do something else?

Below is my original question

Is there anything special that needs to be done to change
a root password on a NIS+ server. 

# passwd

and or

#chkey -p
#keylogin -r

What about changing the root password on a NIS+ client? I seem to remember
the procedure for the NIS+ server was different.
