Many thanks to all the respondants. Even those who just wanted to inform me that they weren't in the office. Thanks especially to Dan Astoorian who pointed me at the 'type' option in 'format'. This was basically exactly what I was after - it allowed me to redetect the layout of the disk. The caveat on doing this is that solaris will apply a default partition table, which you'll then have to replace with the 'original' for the slices you want to preserve. This, for obvious reasons, cannot be done on a 'live' filesystem, although a umount and remount seems to suffice. Then it's (hopefully) just a simple matter of running growfs in order to extend the partition to the full size of the disk. Thanks all, Ed Rolison _______________________________________________ sunmanagers mailing list sunmanagers@sunmanagers.org http://www.sunmanagers.org/mailman/listinfo/sunmanagersReceived on Tue Aug 31 11:54:04 2004
