Thanks to all who responded. Procmail is the way to go. The following will create several single files. formail -ds dead.letter > newmail cat newmail |formail -s sh -c 'cat >msg.$FILENO' These single files if palced under sendmail queue (mqueue) and restart of snedmail should process the mail. I have not tried this part.
