Well...the votes are unanimous (for the most part), and the answer is yes, they are hot swappable. So far I have swapped out 4 batteries - 4 remaining, and I have not had an issue as of yet. I took the suggestion to disable write cache on the arrays about 15 minutes prior to replacing the battery (even though 3 of the 4 were already disabled due to the battery issue), then enable it again after the new batteries have charged (I also did this at a time of low traffic). Simple as that. I know sun says no, but the batteries are dead anyway and just seems ridiculous you have to take down a system to replace it. Just looking for some first hand experience with this. thanks! -B _______________________________________________ sunmanagers mailing list sunmanagers@sunmanagers.org http://www.sunmanagers.org/mailman/listinfo/sunmanagers _______________________________________________ sunmanagers mailing list sunmanagers@sunmanagers.org http://www.sunmanagers.org/mailman/listinfo/sunmanagersReceived on Wed Mar 3 22:18:11 2004
