Hello, I must have a weird browser. Nobody seems to have seen the dowloadPatch.pl behaviour so far. It was recommeded to use ftp://sunsolve.sun.com/pub/patches/ and download the zips directly. Thanks to all that gave this hint. This worked for me. I was able to apply 2 of 4 patches on my list The other patches led to bash-2.03# patchadd 114814-01 Checking installed patches... One or more patch packages included in 114814-01 are not installed on this system. Patchadd is terminating. So they couldn't be applied although the installer claims they are missing. How can I find out which other pacthes have to be applied first for a given patch. This seems to become a cumbersome experience. Can anybody provide me with a list of necessary steps to get GNOME 2.0 installed on a Solaris 8 02/02 installation (no patches applied yet)? The question actually is exactly which patches need to be applied to make the GNOME installer happy? Thanks a lot!
