The solution to this problem is to label the disk. These disk store the metadata of emc, hence they are read only. Speak to emc tell them the OS needs to label these disks. Emc guys will have to come on site, alter the the disk make it read/write, Then sysadmin will label the disk using the format cmd ( select disk and label cmd) to label the disk. Emc will then change the disk back to read only.
