Hi

Many thanks for the fast answer from Jason Santos:

cat /dev/null > /var/adm/utmpx
cat /dev/null > /var/adm/wtmpx

Again many thanks and all sunmanagers a nice evening!

Andrea

Betreff: Solaris 8 "last" command not function anymore!

Hi Sunmanagers

Little question because I don't find any answer!

The "last" command which will show where was loged in the last time and also
what was the last "bootime" etc. doesn't function anymore!

I don't why but I could imagine that somebody of the administrators has
manipulate the responsable files in /var/adm/.

My question is how can I reinitialize the "last" command with the
responsable files without booting the server?

Could anybody help me! Thanks in advance for the help.

Andrea
