Thanks to: Nicolas Figaro Chad Graham Daniel Jaime Larye Parkins David M Dennis Patrick O'Reilly Ed Rolison Matthias Wanke The suggestions were: - check /etc/pam.conf (unchanged from the default install) - make sure there is one, and only one, entry for the user in both passwd and shadow - make sure that passwd and shadow are consistent with each other (see pwconv(1m)) - try the nispasswd command (which is actually for nis+ :) - try 'passwd -r files' - make sure yppasswdd is running Turns out yppasswdd was not running. Thanks to Ed Rolison for the suggestion. _______________________________________________ sunmanagers mailing list sunmanagers@sunmanagers.org http://www.sunmanagers.org/mailman/listinfo/sunmanagersReceived on Tue Dec 2 10:58:38 2003
