Thanks all for quick responses, there are over 50 replies and they all work, I will list the first 3 Create the file /etc/default/telnetd and insert a line like this : BANNER="" - Kenneth Paul Use /etc/default/telnetd and set it up accordingly: I use the following: UMASK=022 BANNER="\n\n" Use of this computer system, authorized or un-authorized, constitutes consent to monitoring. Skip At least on Solaris 8, change the BANNER variable /etc/default/telnetd. We have it set to "\n" which puts nothing on the screen.
