Here is the solution as provided by Alex Stade. I was using part of a solaris 8 finish script on a solaris 9 jumpstart and ANDIrand was installed so when I removed it /dev/random was removed. Running devfsadm and devlinks didn't work. Alex suggested that I check if the random module was loaded and it wasn't. So I loaded the module with /usr/sbin/add_drv random after the module was loaded I was able to run devlinks to recreate the random link in /dev John Note: forwarded message attached. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
