Thanks to everyone who responded. The solution was to blowout the dust out of all of the fans, and from inside of the case. Now the box is running like it is supposed to. The box is running Soalris 9 with all the newest patches, It has OpenBoot 3.17 prom. And when the serial console cable is pluged in I do not get any error messages before the machine shuts itself down. It runs Solaris 9 and it ran without problems until couple of days ago. Since then it randomly shuts down whithout any error messages in ether logfiles, dmesg log or on a console. Sometimes it starts to boot up and shuts itself off during the boot procedure. Could this be that the power supply is gone? All the fans and drives work, as much as I can tell. Thanks any help or ideas how to diagnose this more would be great, Thanks fil -- Fikus Development Corp. 42-06A Bell Blvd. #242 Bayside, NY 11361 Tel: 347-495-3649 Fax: 347-412-5378 -- Fikus Development Corp. 42-06A Bell Blvd. #242 Bayside, NY 11361 Tel: 347-495-3649 Fax: 347-412-5378 _______________________________________________ sunmanagers mailing list sunmanagers@sunmanagers.org http://www.sunmanagers.org/mailman/listinfo/sunmanagersReceived on Thu Sep 4 23:19:39 2003
