Summary: Sun Blade 1000 + 8 Recommended

Here is my VERY VERY late summary to the problem. I apologize for the
same.

I had the luxury of being able to reinstall the machine and ended up doing
that and then applied the patches that i need one by one and then updated
the firmware(which was the reason, i started applying the patches in the
first place).

Good thing Sun calls them "recommended" patches.

If you have a Sun Blade 1000, DO NOT INSTALL the Solaris 8 recommended
patches.

You will end up with a System that cannot boot.
I had 2-3 people email me about the problem and so i decided to send this
email in.

Dear Managers,

I just installed the Solaris 8 recommended patches from sunsolve.sun.com
on my until then working Sun Blade 1000.

After install, i rebooted the machine, and i get this error.

How can i upgrade the qlc ? Google searches didnt yield a whole lot of
information.
