only a response from bertrand hutin he says: try a truss -p <pid of automountd> to debug the problem it is not suitable for me, so i send it to sun hotline, but now, i have no response. A possible workaround i'm using is to force mount of /home/<login> and to stop automountd. So my users can login on the server now. And the directories are never unmounted. my original post: automountd died everyfive minutes now... isearch a workaround: can i put /usr/lib/autofs/automount in crontab to relaunch it? automountd is only necessary on this server or for other nfs clients? on a 250, solaris 8, i apply cluster of recommended patches of Jun/12/03. When i +reboot this machine is nis master, all users accounts are automounted. Since last +night, automountd died unexpectedly i try to restart it,buti can't do /etc/init.d/autofs stop because there is some +file systems mounted, so i do only: scr-root% /usr/lib/autofs/automountd and i see : Jun 24 09:09:02 scr autofs: automountd OK Jun 24 09:09:04 scr autofs: automountd not running, retrying Jun 24 09:09:04 scr autofs: automountd OK Jun 24 09:09:04 scr autofs: automountd not running, retrying -- Gerard HENRY _______________________________________________ sunmanagers mailing list sunmanagers@sunmanagers.org http://www.sunmanagers.org/mailman/listinfo/sunmanagersReceived on Tue Jun 24 07:23:46 2003
