I won't be providing names of people that responded, because I don't think it is appropriate for this question. However, I will report that several people have told me the same story: they couldn't find anything "in writing" saying they couldn't run Solaris 9, and are doing so. I also got back from several people "contact your ISSO" or "contact DISA". Basically, Solaris 9 is "stiggable," people are using it presently, and I shouldn't have to worry about deploying it, provided we get the okay. But there shouldn't be a problem getting the okay.
