Hi, Thanks to Darren Dunham and Reggie Beavers for their assistance. In the end I admitted defeat and rebuilt the whole thing from scratch. It appears that the presentation of the LUNs had changed so much as a result of the software updates on the array (adding Accesslogix among other things) that there was no effective way to re-establish connection between the LUNs and the original disk groups. The underlying devices bore virtually no relation to what we started with and we didn't have sufficient info saved from the original install to even attempt a reconstruction. Lesson learned is always keep a recent copy of "vxprint -thf" and prtvtoc output somewhere safe. And may I second the call for people to sort out their vacation messages please? Out of about 25 responses only 2 weren't machine generated. Cheers Joe. -----------------------originally--------------------------- I have this Clariion disk array which has 4 LUNs. Today this array got it's software reworked and now the original Powerpath devices I was using to access the LUNs are invalid. What I do now have is 4 solaris devices corresponding to those same LUNs. Is there a way I can regenerate the disk groups based on those LUNs without trashing the data inside them. eg I used to have a device emcpower0c which fed a disk group called ha_dg_ora_d1. Now emcpower0c is gone but c5t0d3 exists and points to the same LUN. I'd like if possible to re-init the disk group without actually initialising the whole LUN and trashing the data. What are my chances? _______________________________________________ sunmanagers mailing list sunmanagers@sunmanagers.org http://www.sunmanagers.org/mailman/listinfo/sunmanagersReceived on Tue Jun 3 10:29:55 2003
