Crist Clark provided the instant solution to my problem: when you modify a package, the checksum and file size need to be updated also in the pkgmap file. To get the file size, do "ls -l". to get the checksum, use "sum" command. Thanks Crist for the quick and easy solution! In addition, I also got some suggestions from Rob De Langhe, who suggested "see man pkgmk" and Ryan A. Krenzischek, who gave some more details: --- You'll need to re-run the find . -print | pkgproto > prototype To re-map the directories, files, perms, and check sums. --- I have not yet tested this out. But for information on how to create a package from scratch, I found this document on sunsolve: http://sunsolve.sun.com/private-cgi/retrieve.pl?doc=infodoc%2F18303&zone_32=pkgproto Zaigui --- Zaigui Wang <zaigui@yahoo.com> wrote: > Managers, > > If a modify a package (for example, modify the > checkinstall script), what should I do to > rebuild/revalidate the package so that it is still > valid (like checksum and stuff)? > > Thanks. > > Zaigui > The New Yahoo!
