Thanks to all who replied to this one but the solution was not as difficult as I had thought It was to do with the host files and NIS. The Hosts file was rebuilt removing the 'duff' entries and then distributed accordingly. The next step was to clear out the old emails as they could be hold out-of-date information and then stop and start the sendmail daemon to refresh it with the new data. This appears to have solved the problems. Thanks Paul Procter ============================================================================ ============= The Question was: This is probably something simple and I am probably overlooking something fundamental but here goes: We are running sendmail on Solaris 8. NIS is configured. When a message is sent the following errors are seen: SYSERR:(root):mail loops back to me (MX Problem?) sendmail [4038] hdkmsmskjakk losing ./ asdfakdjlkjhqlwe sendmail panic SYSERR:(root):sendmail:cannot save rejected mail anywhere. Has anyone seen these types of errors and can possibly give me a clus on how to fix them? Many thanks.
