Thanks to all that replied. Many different ideas were tried, but only one of them worked. Peter Stokes wrote me with this idea: --- Suggest you boot the cdrom to single user boot cdrom -s and then go into format and make sure the drive has a valid label. If not it will not be available to the install program. IDE drives do not need a valid label to be included in the install prog. --- And that worked perfectly.
