Dear all, Thanks to all who E-mail me to solve the problem, I moved the H/D as primary to another Ultra 10 server but same problem occured. So I mount the H/D on running server and backup all the data on my H/D and restore them on new E450 server. Thanks again Makhlooq ----- Original Message ----- From: "Makhlooq" <makhlooq@batelco.com.bh> To: <sunmanagers@sunmanagers.org> Sent: Monday, February 24, 2003 1:35 AM Subject: booting problem. > Dear all, > > we have Ultra 10 which use to go to ok prumpt from time to time, but this time > the machine hang even after rebooting it. > Below is the booting status > > The system is being restarted. > syncing file systems... done > rebooting... > Resetting ... > > > Sun Ultra 5/10 UPA/PCI (UltraSPARC-IIi 333MHz), No Keyboard > OpenBoot 3.15, 320 MB memory installed, Serial #10931529. > Ethernet address 8:0:20:a6:cd:49, Host ID: 80a6cd49. > > > > Rebooting with command: boot > Boot device: disk:a File and args: > SunOS Release 5.7 Version Generic_106541-16 [UNIX(R) System V Release 4.0] > Copyright (c) 1983-1999, Sun Microsystems, Inc. > / > The machine hang here..... > > I did the following but no joy..... > > > ok boot cdrom -s > Boot device: /pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/ide@3/cdrom@2,0:f File and args: -s > SunOS Release 5.7 Version Generic_106541-02 [UNIX(R) System V Release 4.0] > Copyright (c) 1983-1998, Sun Microsystems, Inc. > Configuring devices... > SUNW,hme0: Link Down - cable problem? > SUNW,hme0: Link Down - cable problem? > SUNW,hme0: Link Down - cable problem? > - > INIT: SINGLE USER MODE > # fsck /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0s0 > ** /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0s0 > ** Last Mounted on /a > ** Phase 1 - Check Blocks and Sizes > ** Phase 2 - Check Pathnames > ** Phase 3 - Check Connectivity > ** Phase 4 - Check Reference Counts > ** Phase 5 - Check Cyl groups > 1294 files, 22853 used, 469569 free (393 frags, 58647 blocks, 0.0% > fragmentatio > n) > # mount /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0 /a > # installboot /usr/platform/`uname -i`/lib/fs/ufs/bootblk /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0s0 > # umount /a > # fsck /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0s0 > ** /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0s0 > ** Last Mounted on /a > ** Phase 1 - Check Blocks and Sizes > ** Phase 2 - Check Pathnames > ** Phase 3 - Check Connectivity > ** Phase 4 - Check Reference Counts > ** Phase 5 - Check Cyl groups > 1294 files, 22853 used, 469569 free (393 frags, 58647 blocks, 0.0% > fragmentatio > n) > # init 6 > # > INIT: New run level: 6 > The system is coming down.
