Special thanks to: Christophe Dupre [duprec@scorec.rpi.edu] who came up with the answer below. Also Glass, David (UDB) [GlassD@bp.com] Harrington, David B. (Contractor) (DSCR) [David.Harrington@dla.mil] ( David was pretty straight to the point) A quick check at the ifconfig output shows that your two interfaces have different netmasks. In particular, dmfe2 has a netmask of fffffff0, which is 255.255.255.240. With that netmask, you seem to be trying to use subnet 198.191.100.192/28, where: subnet 198.191.100.192 broadcast 198.191.100.207 available addr 198.191.100.193 - 198.191.100.206 HERE IS MY ORIGINAL QUESTION: > Hello Managers: > > I have a V100 which has two network port dmfe0 and dmfe1. > > dmfe0 is coming up without any problem at all but dmfe1 is not coming up. > Here is what the server is displaying when coming up: > > Sun Fire V100 (UltraSPARC-IIe 500MHz), No Keyboard > OpenBoot 4.0, 1152 MB memory installed, Serial #51701605. > Ethernet address 0:3:ba:14:e7:65, Host ID: 8314e765. > > > > Executing last command: boot > Boot device: disk0:a File and args: > SunOS Release 5.8 Version Generic_108528-15 64-bit > Copyright 1983-2001 Sun Microsystems, Inc.
