In /etc/inetd.conf you need # smserverd to support removable media devices 100155/1 tli rpc/ticotsord wait root /usr/lib/smedia/rpc.smserverd rpc.smserverd Solaris 9 vold talks to rpc.smserverd which is started via inetd. Make sure you don't have that commented out in /etc/inetd.conf. -----Original Message----- From: sunmanagers-admin@sunmanagers.org [mailto:sunmanagers-admin@sunmanagers.org]On Behalf Of Ron McKeever Sent: Wednesday, February 12, 2003 5:33 PM To: sunmanagers@sunmanagers.org Subject: cdrom not mounting Sol 9 Hi I have a fresh install of Solaris 9 on a blade. And I notice that when I place a cd in the cdrom it does not mount it? vold is running. Is there something thats different on Sol 9? The system sees the cdrom because I can mount the cdrom with the mount command... Any help would be great...
