Thanks a lot to all Unix gurus who responded fast. Q. I need your help. I am not able to name the partition as /opt on the second drive thru the format command. Please advise. A. You never define its path with the format command. The command does expect a "tag"; the legal values are: unassigned boot root swap usr backup stand var home alternates This has nothing (or very little) to do with the path name; pick one. The path is specified when you put it in /etc/vfstab or when you mount it. Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable.
