Sure enough, I've now gotten more replies to my summary than the original posting. The most useful info seems to be from D. Collier (dcollier@hmsy.com): "I recently installed Solaris 9 on an Ultra 10 with a Yamaha (3rd party) CD-RW attached. I was getting the same message (mine was sd0, but otherwise the same). It turns out if you edit /etc/vold.conf and replace the asterisk (*) in the 'cdrom' line with the actual device name of your CD drive, the problem goes away. At least, it did for me. YMMV. Good luck! " Also, apparently in the November issue of Sys Admin, presumably Q&A, the problem is also mentioned. Thanks once again to all. eno _______________________________________________ sunmanagers mailing list sunmanagers@sunmanagers.org http://www.sunmanagers.org/mailman/listinfo/sunmanagersReceived on Tue Nov 19 14:49:44 2002
