Thanks to all who replied (over 50 responses). The great majority of responses recommended the APC Smart-UPS with the PowerChute plus for Solaris/SPARC software. The web site is http://www.apcc.com/products/smart-ups/ Other options mentioned were http://www.tripplite.com and http://powerware.com. The TrippLite web site had a nice 'sizing guide' wizard that would recommend an UPS based on the information you input. Did not see that on the other web sites. I also got a reference to http://www.exploits.org/nut which is a network UPS software tool that claims to have the capability to monitor the most popular UPS models.
