Hi,

Problem solved:

I deleted invalid entries from printers.conf and using 'printmgr'.

I added new a new printer at host hp500dj(IP)

 HP500DJ:\
         :bsdaddr=hp500dj,HP500DJ,Solaris:\
         :description=HP DesignJet Plotter:

and changed the printer name on wintel server to HP500DJ.
We tried to plot PS generated from Synopsys' 'Design Vision'
and got nothing but have not yet tried from other EDA tools.
We are hoping to get GDSII db plotted.

Our IT guys are working on their wintel server to accept printing
of PS from Unix.

My recommendation is used 'printmgr' instead of admintool to
add new printer which is networked.

in hppi:
choose 1) spool administration -> 1) add printer to local spool -> enter IP
of printer

this is how I add jetdirect printers that were configured using webjetadmin
on NT.
