My original question was.

Is there a switch/flag in ping that will display the interface being
used (i.e. lo0, hme0, qfe2, etc). This was an interview question asked
of a friend of mine.

The Answer. NO. It appears that either it was a trick question or the
interviewer didn't know what they were talking about. Thanks again for
all your suggestions.
