Thanks for all of the responses. I got 15 responses and they keep coming. I used info from alot of the repines and did the following to fix my problem: ok> bootk cdrom -sw # mount -o rw /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0 /a # cd /a/etc # cp vfstab.orig vfstab # cat vfstab (ensure it is the right vfstab) # cd / # umount /a # fsck -y /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0 # sync; sync; sync # halt OK> boot I think the bigest thing was that I was not typing in sync before rebooting. Thanks so much! -----Original Message----- From: Jeff Wellens [mailto:jeffw@pbs.com] Sent: April 22, 2002 3:19 PM To: sunmanagers@sunmanagers.org Subject: Bad /etc/vfstab I have a bad /etc/vfstab but have a backup file that is good. To fix it, I am doing the following: ok> boot cdrom -s # mount /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0 /mnt # cd /mnt/etc # cp vfstab.orig vfstab # cat vfstab (ensure it is the right vfstab) When I reboot, I get the same error that vfstab is bad. When I look at /etc/vfstab, it is back to the bad one. Why is this not saving? Thanks!
