No clear answer (only Gods know what's Oracle intending). General consensus is to upper the number of semaphores in system, but no one has an idea about what's going on. I'll do it, as there are low memory quantities involved. Many thanks. I had heard Oracle 8.0 uses double number of semaphores on startup, and late it frees half of them. But I had enough even with this assumption. What's the key ? Have the whole sem set to be contigous in memory? Is oracle asking for more than 1829? > > Solaris 2.6. Oracle 8.0.6.3.0.
