Well, it turns out that what I want to do is not [currently] achievable. There are several ways of connecting a Sun-5 keyboard to a non-Sun machine, but no identifiable means of connecting a USB keyboard to an Ultra-1. The monitor question is easily solved via the VGA adaptor mentioned above. I appreciated the informative responses from David Fung and Alvaro Figueroa.
