UPDATE : large IDE disks >32GB on Solaris 8

Thanks for the numerous replies so far. I'm still no closer to getting any
result though :-(

Most people seem to think this can be done without any special action
under Solaris 10/00 and onwards (not the initial release). One or two
people mentioned upgrading the OBP but others tell me this is a
myth.

However, format still insists on just giving me 31.5GB of a 61.4GB disk,
after corrupting as below and relabelling.

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/rdsk/c0t1d0s2 count=1

My details :-

SunOS Isar 5.8 Generic_108528-07 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-5_10

Can anybody advise further?
