Hello, I am installing NIS on Solaris 5.8 on an intel x86 box. I am getting the following error when I run ypinit -m sh: /usr/lib/netsvc/yp/multi: not found *** Error code 1 sh: /usr/lib/netsvc/yp/multi: not found *** Error code 1 sh: /usr/lib/netsvc/yp/stdethers: not found NIS make terminated: ethers.time The steps I took to configure the machine as a nis server were the following: # touch /etc/ethers /etc/bootparams /etc/locale /etc/timezone /etc/netgroup /etc/netmasks # ypinit -m ..... Do you want this procedure to quit on non-fatal errors? [y/n: n] n Building /var/yp/resdata.com/ypservers... Running /var/yp /Makefile... updated passwd updated group sh: /usr/lib/netsvc/yp/multi: not found *** Error code 1 sh: /usr/lib/netsvc/yp/multi: not found *** Error code 1 sh: /usr/lib/netsvc/yp/stdethers: not found NIS make terminated: ethers.time Error running Makefile. foo has been set up as a yp master server with errors.
