Looking at output provided by people on the list, I found that on my
systems, I don't get the ethernet address.

I get the following output on my systems (I changed the names and
numbers):

xxxxx:/home/fido-> ifconfig -a
lo0: flags=849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 8232
        inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000
hme0: flags=863<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
        inet 111.1.111.111 netmask ffffff00 broadcast 111.11.111.111

I finally used arp -a to find the address, after pinging the target
machine.

Thanks a lot and best regards.
