Thanks also to Bernhard Sadlowski, Charles Gagnon, and David Lee, who
replied. No thanks to the nameless individual who decided to flame me
without understanding my question.

Subject: Solaris 7 nologin problem
Under solaris 7, when I create /etc/nologin, I can no longer log in on the
desktop. The usual CDE login screen is replaced with a "logins disabled"
dialog box and I don't even have the opportunity to log in as root. I have
to keep remote root logins enabled and telnet to the box as root in order to
remove /etc/nologin. It seems like this should be a widely experienced
problem, but I have only found one other person who has reported it and he
has been unable to find the answer. Is there a dtlogin patch or some
configuration file that I can change to make dtlogin behave the way it
should, or am I stuck with using the workaround?
