Subject: Re: FreeBSD Management Tool?
Ahhh... I see. No problem there. Just last week I set up something
like that. I installed ucd-snmpd on my FreeBSD system and then set up
mrtg to graph it for me. Both utils are in the ports tree.
If you want to see my system it is up at http://cab.elwood.net.
If you are looking for more then just profiling your system and what
to do things like say paging you when cpu usage goes over a certian
percent that is easy to do as well. Ucd-snmpd comes with a bunch of
command line snmp utils that you can use in a shell script and then
cron it out to run say every 5 mins. Just a little bit of shell
scripting and you are set.
There are a series of articles about setting up UCD-snmpd located at
http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/bsd/2000/07/27/Big_Scary_Daemons.html.
Just follow the realated articles links on the side bar and it should
tell you all you need.
Good luck!
