That was quick. It was a postscript problem. Thanks to Matthew Stier

which was also correct.

lpadmin -p <printer> -v /dev/null -i /usr/lib/lp/model/netstandard -I
postscript -T PS -o dest=<ip of printer:port>,protocol=tcp
I didn't have the -I or -T options, and that's what fixed it.
