Problem:
rsh (on 2.6) seems to work only every
third time. It does not seem to matter
whether the remote machine is the same
or different on each call.
Solution:
The local machine has more than one
network interface (real or virtual),
ALL of which need to be in the remote
machines .rhosts (or hosts.equiv etc).
(These symptoms are also consistent
with DNS/NIS problems meaning that
names may not always be properly
resolved.)
