Mike Demarco hit it on the head with this:
You must pull the map to the slaves before a push will work!
try:
make NOPUSH=true mapname
Then do a ypxfr on the slaves for that map
ypxfr -h <master-hostname> mapname
This made sense with what we were seeing in the truss output. the makedbm
would complete and then the yppush would try to push to the ypservers and
then timeout apparently. Didn't see this in the O'reilly book, but that is
what makes this list so cool.
