Here was the problem:
Solaris 2.6 does not work with the 8MB cache of new processors.
I have new 400MHz/8MBcache cpus. prior to booting from net
(aka jumpstarting), I had to 'limit-ecache-size' from the ok prompt.
ok> limit-ecache-size
I also patched the 2.6 install image on the server by running
"modify_install_server" from the "miniroot?" CD provided with the new
E3500 hardware. This loaded some patches in to the 2.6 jumpstart
image.

I can't do a "boot net - install" on a new E3500.
E3500 configuration:
It has 8 "internal" 18.2Gb FC-AL disks.
I want to load Solaris 2.6. So I used the CD that came with
the E3500 which was for pre-loading a mini root for 2.5.1 and 2.6.
Then, I installed 2.6 5/98 from CD. The default device was c0t4d0.
Then when I want to re-do the install via jumpstart so that postinstall
picks up all of the patches, etc. I run "boot net - install" from the ok
prompt.
When arp/rarp finds its hostname, domainname, root server
and root directory, it comes back and says:
SunOS Release 5.6 Version Generic_105181-05 [UNIX(R) Systen V Release 4.0]
Copyright (c) 1983-1997, Sun Microsystems, Inc.
panic[cpu14]/thread=0x10404040: recursive rw_enter, lp=10417348 wwwh=10404040
waiters=0 thread=10404040
rebooting...
Resetting...
Clock board TOD does not match TOD on any IO board.
Then it comes back with the Sun graphic and
5-slot Sun Enterprise 3500...etc.
screen goes blank and it comes back with:
Rebooting with command: boot
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
The `boot net - install` command gets reset to "boot".
Why can't I do: "boot net - install"?
In jumpstart (rules for this particular host), I'm using c0t4d0 as the default
boot device. This is what the pre-Solaris 2.6 install CD said to make it.
What are the "panic" messages about above?

Thank you,
Jeff
