SUMMARY: L280 controls from command line

Thank you all for your suggestions - though I think that I have hit a brick wall. There is a package of software out called STCTL that promises to have support in version 1.3 but unfortunately it is currently at version 1.25. Another package is from www.hiarc.com, they offer generic support for jukeboxes - not specifically the L280. Other than that the only other way is to buy a commercial backup package. We have Veritas NetBackup 3.2 here, and that is wherein the problem lies. It (veritas) doesn't seem to be talking to the L280 for some reason. That is why I am looking for some way (preferably freeware) that can control the L280, so that I can sleep at night knowing if our server room catches on fire (which here in Montana is a distinct possibility this year) we have a backup. I have a hard time believing that Sun doesn't have a driver for their own hardware, but like so many other companies - they never cease to amaze me in how low customer support can go!!

Thanks again for all of your help
