Orginial questions follows:
The answer is that the newer 100MB/s GBIC interfaces will not work with the
older Sun SSA storage arrays with their 25MB/s interface.
Thanks
Original question:
Is anyone aware of the compatibility of using the second generation 100MB/s
GBIC
modules from Sun for attaching the older SSA arrays, i.e. SSA model 114,
which
originally used the 25MB/s FCOM modules?
We have picked up several SSA's in great working order but no 25MB/s Fiber
channel host bus adaptors and would like to know if we can purchase the
100MB/s
GBIC versions. Is there going to be a problem with the mismatch in speed or
frequencies used?
