I got some hints: Don't use space in passwords, use the Qualcomm server,
use the newer SIMS version, look for /etc/shells
and so on - nothing helps.

I have tested qpopper 3.0.2 und 2.5.3 and also my running SunOS version
qpopper 2.5.3 (well it runs on 2.7 - with the same problems).

Then i found in the docs, that qpopper use only /etc/passwd. I am running
NIS. But the funny thing is, my old SunOS version is running in my
old enviroment - with NIS (mailserver ist SunOS 4.1.3 and the NIS server is
running on Solaris 2.5.1 with a slave on the mailserver), and i don't know why.
qpopper was compiled only with ./configure and nothing more. (At last i make
test with an entry in /etc/passwd and see, qpopper 3.0.2 was running.)

So, any new hints for running a pop-server (qpopper or ipop3d) with NIS????

Detlev
